Milan is not obviously beautiful from the street. Everything happens behind the doors: courtyards, gardens, cool marble halls, a whole second city one step off the pavement.
Its wellness culture is the Italian version — walking, long lunches, an aperitivo that replaces rather than precedes dinner.

One good day
- 1
Espresso standing at the bar; nobody sits for breakfast.
- 2
Walk through Brera, pushing open every courtyard door.
- 3
Long lunch, one glass of wine.
- 4
An hour at Villa Necchi or the Fondazione.
- 5
Aperitivo at seven, and let it become dinner.
Don't bother
